Breed Standard for the Westie (West Highland White Terrier)--
The Westie is a hardy, confident terrier. They have an athletic body that stands 10 or 11 inches tall and typically weighs between 15-20 pounds. The coat is double-layered; a rough and wiry outercoat and a soft, short undercoat. Westies tend to have drier skin than most dogs which makes them give off less odor. Westies are fearless, sociable, and energetic companions.
